Raymond Moretti passed away on July 8 at the age of 92. He was one of the 715 notaries who joined PAN in 1955 and continued his membership until his retirement in 2015.
Mr. Moretti owned R. Moretti Real Estate in Carnegie for over 50 years before turning it over to his daughter, Lisa Moretti; his daughter-in-law, Deborah Moretti; and Gloria J. Fritz. The company is now Moretti, Moretti and Fritz, and focuses on motor vehicle paperwork.
After retiring from the business at age 88, Mr. Moretti continued going to the office on a regular basis. When he was not in the office, Mr. Moretti enjoyed playing poker, reading history and current events, and watching television. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, Italian Day at Kennywood Park, and vacations to the Jersey shore.
Mr. Moretti graduated from Langley High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He attended Duquesne University and then embarked on his real estate and notary career.
He was preceded in death by Mary, his wife of 53 years, and is survived by his five children and two grandchildren.
“He was an outstanding gentleman,” said John Rakocsy, a PAN member from Canonsburg. “”He is the reason I became a notary. He helped me along the way to get my commission.”
To the Moretti family and friends, please accept our deepest sympathies.
