Marc L. Aronson, president and CEO of the Pennsylvania Association of Notaries is available to speak at your conference free of charge on all notary topics, including notary practices and the latest news that affect notaries throughout Pennsylvania.
As an expert in the functions of the notary public, he coordinated efforts with the Pennsylvania Secretary of State and Pennsylvania legislators in reviewing and drafting legislation to improve the notary profession. Aronson also worked with the Secretary’s office in creating the first major change to the Commonwealth’s Notary Public Law in 50 years. A major component of this legislation gave Pennsylvania notaries the ability to act as electronic notaries.
His work with other national organizations includes the American Bar Association Science and Technology Law Section’s E-Trust Subcommittee’s white paper on electronic notarization; the Minnesota Notary Task Force in rewriting their notary law; information, education and advice on electronic notarization for various committees within the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization; the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws and the Uniform Law on Notarial Acts, in which he serves as a consultant in developing a national notary law; and committee work with the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS) Legal XML section to develop data standards for electronic notarization.
Aronson has contributed his notarial expertise on a national scale to notary appointing authorities and others, including the American Escrow Association, the Electronic Signatures and Records Association, the Mortgage Bankers Association, the National Association of Secretaries of State, the Notary Public Administrators Association, the Pennsylvania Land Title Association, the Pennsylvania Recorder of Deeds Association, the Property Records Industry Association, the Standards and Procedures for Electronic Records and Signatures, and Real ID.
