Two notaries from two counties were sanctioned by the Pennsylvania Department of State for violations of the Notary Public Law.
A notary in Duncansville, Blair County, has her commission revoked based on findings that she failed to take the oath of office, give a surety bond and record the bond and commission at the county Recorder of Deeds. She continued to notarize without a valid commission, and failed to document the amount of fees collected for services in her register.
In Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, a notary permanently and voluntarily surrendered her notary commission because she failed to give a certified copy of her register to any person applying for it.
