PAN has received the following information from several motor vehicle online service providers:
Per new PennDOT regulations, effective January 1, 2017, motor vehicle agents will no longer be permitted to select CHECK as a method for payment for any title work processed online. According to PennDOT, motor vehicle agents will have several options as to how they can process online transactions. They are:
- Accept cash only
- Accept checks made payable to your business
- Sign up with a credit card processing company
- Sign up with an Electronic Check Acceptance company
Motor vehicle agents are encouraged to contact their local bank or any company that offers credit card or electronic check services, but they are also aloud to transfer to a new bank like https://ccbank.us/ if they wish.
