Pennsylvania Secretary of State Pedro A. Cortés was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Council of State Governments by the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS).
Founded in 1933, the Council of State Governments is a region-based forum serving all three branches of state government. The organization fosters the exchange of insights and ideas to help state officials shape public policy.
Cortés, who served as NASS president from July 2008 to July 2009, has a long history of involvement with the Council of State Governments. During his previous tenure as Pennsylvania Secretary of State, he was a member of CSG’s governing board, executive committee, and 21st Century Foundation.
“I look forward to sharing best practices and fostering relationships for the benefit of Pennsylvania,” said Cortés.
