Issues with Notary Notes:
If you want the print version of Notary Notes instead of digital, or you are not receiving any issues of Notary Notes, digital or print, please contact our Customer Service Department at 800-944-8790 Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or E-mail us at [email protected]. We’ll take care of it for you.
If you are not receiving Notary Notes Digital, please check your spam E-mail box. Perhaps the missing issues are there. Remember to include [email protected] in your Address book or allow list. This will prevent Notary Notes Digital from going into your spam box.
For members who are having difficulties printing Notary Notes Digital, when you open up the E-mail containing Notary Notes, you will see a box on the right with an image of the current issue with turning pages. Below it, there is a download link that will allow you to print or save it to your computer. Click on the download link and the current issue will open. You can then print it out or save it to your computer. Go to File and Save As to save the issue to your computer.
Members who can’t open Notary Notes Digital, please go to the Member Portal at www.notary.org. To log in, use your Customer Number and password. Your Customer Number can be found on all correspondence to you from PAN. For password help, click on the Forgot Password link within the sign-in box. Once you log into the Member Portal page, click on the Notary Notes link on the left side of the page. Scroll down to near the bottom of the Notary Notes page where you will see a download link. Click on this link to open up the PDF of Notary Notes Digital to print or save to your computer.
Motor Vehicle Seminars:
Some motor vehicle agents and their employees voiced their displeasure over the length of the live motor vehicle seminars, and how much information is discussed during the seminars. They also wanted to know why motor vehicle training is required every two years.
Although PAN instructors conduct the live motor vehicle seminars, the material contained within each seminar, the length of time per seminar, and the requirement of training every two years are mandated by PennDOT.
Motor Vehicle Work:
Several members asked where they could get information on what’s involved in motor vehicle work. All the necessary requirements for becoming a motor vehicle agent, messenger, etc., are listed on PAN’s Web site at http://www.notary.org/Products/Motor_Vehicle_Packages/. This information tells you everything you need to know and do to become a contracted PennDOT agent, messenger, etc.
PAN’s Live Chat:
PAN’s Live Chat on our Web site is a great feature. But when you need your question answered immediately, pick up the phone and call our Customer Service Department, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Problems Signing into the Member Portal:
To sign into PAN’s Member Portal, you will need your Customer Number and password. Your Customer Number can be found on any correspondence you receive from PAN, such as Notary Notes print version (located above your mailing address), and reappointment postcards (located above your mailing address). If you cannot locate your Customer Number, call our Customer Service Department at 800-944-8790, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You can obtain instructions for your password on the Member Portal sign-in box.
Reappointment E-mails and Postcards:
About five years ago, members voiced their concerns about not receiving notifications regarding their reappointments. Now we begin the notification process seven months prior to your commission expiration date. We do this to grab your attention. The E-mails and postcards are to remind you that your notarial commission will be expiring. Once you begin your reappointment process through PAN, your name is removed from our mailing list for receiving further reappointment notifications.
The Department of State, Division of Legislation and Notaries regulates and appoints all Pennsylvania notaries. Once an application for reappointment is submitted and approved, letters of reappointment are mailed to notaries approximately 60 days prior to their current commission expiration date because the department does not want notaries to have overlapping commissions.
CLE Credits Not Posted to Account:
We heard from attorneys whose continuing legal education credits may not have been posted to their accounts. Please call our Customer Service Department at 800-944-8790, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. One of our customer service representatives can look into this for you.
Problems with Notary Stamps:
If you have a stamp that is not functioning as it should, please call our Customer Service Department at 800-944-8790, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Our President’s Guarantee on our products means we will replace the stamp at no charge.
