A friendly reminder from the Pennsylvania Association of Notaries (PAN): PennDOT is enforcing its two-year training requirement for motor vehicle agents and their employees. Don’t let PennDOT catch you without a current education certificate. PAN can help.
We offer live basic and advanced seminars and an online course. Our live MVcourse Basic Seminar is designed for new motor vehicle agents and their employees who have one year experience or less of handling motor vehicle paperwork in Pennsylvania. This basic course is six hours of instruction focusing on the most common transactions and procedures done for the Department of Motor Vehicles, including basic form completion, certificates of title, forms MV-1, MV-4ST, MV-120, Pennsylvania insurance requirements and determining motor vehicle fair market values.
The live MV Advanced Seminar is for motor vehicle agents and their employees who have previously taken the basic training or have one or more years experience of handling motor vehicle paperwork. This six hour seminar covers standard Department of Motor Vehicle policies and procedures and updates on new procedures, including re-issuing temporary registrations, new requirements under privacy of information laws, Pennsylvania’s Electronic Lien and Title Program (ELT) and resources available through the Department of Transportation’s Web site.
PAN’s online “Motor Vehicle Agent Services Basic Title and Registration Course” has a new interactive format and satisfies the motor vehicle training requirements for agents and their employees. It provides in-depth and well-organized introductions to the most common transactions and procedures done for the Department of Motor Vehicles and allows you to learn at your own speed, at work or in the comfort of your own home and when it’s convenient for you. All you need is a computer and an online connection.
