PITTSBURGH—(PAN) Pennsylvania Association of Notaries (www.notary.org) will hold several educational seminars for notaries in Mercer, Allegheny and York counties this month.
PAN’s First Time Notary Seminar (9 a.m. to noon) is state-approved and fulfills the three-hour mandatory education provision for new notaries. The Everyday Notary Challenges Seminar (1 p.m. to 4 p.m.) is offered in conjunction with the First Time Notary Seminar and covers problem documents, wills, powers of attorney, and mortgages. The cost is $64 per seminar.
Notary Reappointment Seminar (9 a.m. to noon) fulfills the state’s educational requirement for reappointed notaries. The Identity Theft Seminar (1 p.m. to 3 p.m.) discusses ways identity may be stolen and how to protect your customers’ information. The cost for each seminar is $64.
Seminars will be held in Mercer, Pittsburgh and York on the following dates:
First Time Notary Seminar and Everyday Notary Challenges Seminar – January 18.
Notary Reappointment Seminar and Identity Theft Seminar – January 19.
On January 20, PAN’s MVcourse Advanced Seminar (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) will be offered in Pittsburgh. This seminar is the required biennial training for returning motor vehicle agents and their employees who have previously taken the basic training or have one or more years of motor vehicle paperwork experience in Pennsylvania. The cost is $95.
Pre-registration is required; walk-ins not accepted.
