PAN Going Back to Center City Philly

NASA may not be visiting the moon anytime soon, but PAN will be going back to Center City Philadelphia to present notary education seminars.

We last offered notary education in Center City in September 2009. This year, PAN will hold its First Time Notary and Everyday Notary Challenges Seminars on November 16.

PAN’s First Time Notary Seminar is state–approved and fulfills the three-hour mandatory education provision for new notaries. The course includes the Notary Public Law, seven notarial powers, notarial seal and register, electronic notarization and acceptable forms of identification. The Everyday Notary Challenges Seminar is offered in the afternoon in conjunction with the First Time Notary Seminar and covers problem documents, wills, powers of attorney, and mortgages. The cost is $54 per seminar.

On November 17, PAN will hold its Notary Reappointment and Identity Theft Seminars. The Notary Reappointment Seminar fulfills the state’s educational requirement for reappointed notaries. This three-hour morning seminar includes reviews of the nine steps of notarization procedures, the seven notary powers including a hands-on workshop on affidavits and acknowledgments, problem and complex documents, and electronic notarization. The Identity Theft Seminar, held in the afternoon, will discuss ways identity may be stolen, what can be done to avoid identity theft, and how to recover after an identity theft occurs.  Each seminar costs $54.

The seminars will be held at the Holiday Inn Express Midtown, 1305 Walnut St., Philadelphia. The First Time Notary Seminar on November 16 runs from 9 a.m. to noon and Everyday Notary Challenges Seminar is 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Notary Reappointment Seminar on November 17 is 9 a.m. to noon. Identity Theft is from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Pre-registration is required. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
