The Pennsylvania Association of Notaries (PAN) was proud to support the Congressional resolution of designating June 30 as National ESIGN Day.

June 30, 2010 marks the 10th anniversary of the enactment of ESIGN, the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act. ESIGN ensures that “a signature, contract, or other record relating to a transaction may not be denied legal effect, validity, or enforceability soley because it is in electronic form.”

ESIGN has transformed how interstate commerce and business is conducted. It has paved the way for American companies to operate globally.

Congress signed the bill on June 30, 2010 in recognition of the contributions made in adopting modern solutions that keep the United States at the forefront of technology.
