PennDOT has enabled customers to check the availability of a personalized (vanity) plate configuation of letters and numbers before submitting an application and paying the fee.

To see if the letters and numbers you want on a registration plate are available, go to www.dot3.state.pa.us/centers/vanityPlate.shtml and click on Step 2: Check Personalized Plate Availability.

There you can type in your proposed vanity plate, click “Check Availability” and see immediately whether the configuration is available.

NOTE: The Web page does not guarantee that the configuration you choose will still be available by the time PennDOT receives your application and fee. Specialized plates are issued on a first come, first served basis. Fees are not refundable if the configuration becomes unavailable.
