We’re proud of what we do here at PAN and we want to share our enthusiasm with notaries throughout the Commonwealth. So we’re doing a bit of self-promotion through what’s known as “social media,” reaching out to notaries with our presence on Facebook and Twitter.
After conducting some research, we’ve found that it’s not just tweens, teens and 20-somethings posting content on Facebook and Twitter. You’re on these sites as well, keeping business colleagues, friends and family up-to-date on what’s going on in your professional and private lives.
Users turn to their Facebook profiles to connect personally, politically and professionally with other like-minded individuals. Created in Feb. 2004 by Harvard University sophomore Mark Zuckerberg, there are now more than 200 million users of Facebook.
Twitter enables its users to send and read messages known as “tweets,” text-based posts of up to 140 characters that are displayed on the author’s profile page and delivered to the author’s subscribers or followers. Created in 2006 by Jack Dorsey, a software architect, Twitter now ranks as the third most used social networking site with 6 million monthly visitors and 55 million monthly visits.
Businesses have joined the millions of individual users of Facebook and Twitter to reach out and form relationships with their customers, potential customers and with other businesses.
PAN is now a part of this revolution.
