Philadelphia City Council has amended Section 10-1001 of Title 10 of the Philadelphia Code relating to fees charged by the Commissioner of Records.

Effective August 3, 2009, the fee to be sworn in as a notary at the Philadelphia Department of Records office will increase from $70.50 to $100.50.

The fee breakdown is as follows:

Notary Public Commission and Bond Recording Fee   $86.00

State Writ Tax   $0.50

County Fee   $2.00

Special Writ Tax 1   $2.00

Special Writ Tax 2   $10.00
