The Pennsylvania Department of State made some major changes to the Commonwealth’s Electronic Notarization Initiative as the program enters its third year.
As of Jan. 30, the department opened the program to allow multiple vendors to participate, providing notaries with more choices on how to electronically notarize documents. However, no new vendors had been approved as of mid-February.
The department also eliminated the $40 electronic notary application fee for applications submitted and received on or after Jan. 30. The rest of the application process will remain the same at this time.
